ABOUT BLUE SPRUCE BEE COMPANY
I have always had a passion for beekeeping. As a child, I was always told to stay away from the back of my grandfather's garage because of the feral honey bees living there. Watching the local beekeeper collect swarms from this colony was awe inspiring. Here I am years later doing the same thing.
When you buy honey in the grocery store, you never know what you are getting. You're likely getting blended honey from multiple sources (mostly from outside of the USA) to fit a certain pre-determined flavor profile (read more on this by clicking here.) The really cheap honey is often mixed with sugar water or high fructose corn syrup for increased profits. Therefore, we like to post updates and pictures of our honey bees on our Facebook page so that you can actually see where your honey comes from and how it is made.
We don't cut corners and do everything the hard way because in the end, it's worth it.
We'll never mix or blend our honey with cheap honey from different countries or locations like commercial operations do.
Every jar of our honey comes from these Pennsylvanian mountains that we live on. That's a promise.

MEET THE OWNERS
"Blue Spruce Bee Company"
The name "Blue Spruce Bee Company" evolved from a small business called "Dandelion Acre Homestead" which is no longer in use. When trying to figure out what to name my passion, I was asked what my favorite childhood memory was. All of my favorite childhood memories involve a row of Colorado Blue Spruce trees in the front yard of my Grandparents house. No matter the occasion, they were always there. Warm and humid summer nights with a chorus of summer bugs and frogs, snowy days running back to my dad's house next door, or spring thunderstorms watching fast moving black clouds disappear behind a wall of blue spruce trees. They were planted there by my Grandfather and are still there even after he has gone.
